Be aware of scams |
Please be aware of suspicious emails with unusual or urgent requests that appear to be sent from a colleague.
Scammers may pose as a supervisor asking you to buy gift cards or provide your T&E Card for other seemingly legitimate business purchases. If you encounter a suspicious email, follow these steps. If you are unsure about the legitimacy of an email, forward it to abuse@virginia.edu and contact the person who sent it to you using the information you have on file.
Please see the UVA Information Security Alerts & Warnings webpage for a full list of current warnings at UVA, as well as Information Security's webpage of phishing examples.
