Day of Caring 2017 to be held September 20

Save the date!  Day of Caring 2017 is rapidly approaching.   UVAFinance and HR team members will receive a sign up email on Monday, August 14.  See below for a preview of our chosen projects.

            Worksource Carnival (8:00 am – 1:00 pm)

            60 Volunteers

WorkSource Enterprises is a
non-profit organization that provides job training and employment to people
with special needs.  The carnival is something these individuals (as well
as UHR employees) look forward to every year and a project we are excited about
collaborating with UHR on to bring to life again this year!

Piedmont Virginia Community
College – Community Garden
(9:30 am – 12:30 am)

20 - 25 Volunteers

Come help in the PVCC Community
Garden as we make improvements to the site and tidy up for fall. We have eight
raised beds in which we grow food for the hungry in our community. Our native
plant beds have become a bit overgrown and we could use some help getting them
back into shape, as well as getting some unwanted vining plants off our back
fence. We'll also be incorporating some aged manure into the beds to help with
soil fertility for the next growing season. If time allows, we'd also like to
dig  a new bed for flowers along the wall of our hoop house (greenhouse).

am – 3:00 pm)
