Haven’t Joined the UVA Amazon Business Account Yet? Now’s the Time!

is waiting for you!

Make Sure You’re Using the Centralized UVA Amazon Business Account

In April, UVA launched a centralized Amazon Business account through the Amazon Punchout in UVA Marketplace. Many users have already joined, but some may still be using older, school-specific, or standalone Amazon Business accounts without realizing it.

With a September 1 deadline approaching, now is the time to double-check your account and make sure you’re set up correctly.


How to Know You’re in the Right Account

Whether you access Amazon through UVA Marketplace or directly at Amazon.com, your account should display:

“Account for the University of Virginia” in the upper right-hand corner of the Amazon Business page.

If you see your school or department name instead, you're still using an older or departmental account and will need to migrate.

Going through the Punchout in UVA Marketplace is the easiest way to ensure you're in the centralized account.

However, if you’ve already migrated, you can log in at Amazon.com — just make sure your account says “University of Virginia.”

Why This Matters

Beginning September 1, purchases made outside the centralized UVA Amazon Business account:

  • Will not be eligible for reimbursement

  • Should not be made with the T&E Card, unless specific exceptions apply (e.g., shipping to non-UVA addresses outside of Charlottesville)
