Treasury's Linda Vannatta to Retire

Happy Retirement!
After nearly 24 years of dedicated service to the University, Linda Vannatta is retiring from her role as Director of Treasury Operations in UVAFinance.

Linda’s UVA career began in 2001 as a Fiscal Tech for the School of Medicine’s Nephrology Department. In 2003, she moved to Risk Management, where she laid the foundation for what would become a distinguished tenure supporting the University’s financial stability and strategic growth. Over the years, she took on a range of roles that spanned risk management, insurance, and treasury functions, each time deepening her impact and sharpening UVA’s financial tools and processes.

She served as Treasury Manager and later as Assistant Director of Treasury & Risk Management, playing key roles in major initiatives such as UVA’s Workday Financial Strategic Transformation, cash flow forecasting, bond issuance, and endowment investment management. Most recently, as Director of Treasury Operations, Linda led with a steady hand and a deep well of institutional knowledge, ensuring effective treasury management and sound financial operations across Grounds.

Linda’s career has been marked by a focus on innovation, efficiency, and stewardship. From advancing the “cashless university” initiative to shaping UVA’s internal loan programs, her influence is woven into the financial infrastructure that supports the University’s mission.

We are grateful for Linda’s many contributions and wish her all the best as she embarks on a well-earned retirement. She leaves behind a legacy of excellence, care, and commitment and she will be greatly missed.
