After working for a few weeks as a temporary administrative assistant for the project, it was clear that Wilson could easily handle anything thrown her way. This efficiency might just be why she was recently hired in a permanent role as Project Administrator for the team. In this position, she will be providing some much-needed support as FST enters into Phase 3: Implementation, the busiest phase of the project to date.
She comes to UVA and FST from a small family law firm in Charlottesville.
“I loved that job. I learned a lot there and really grew as a person.”
But she was interested in a change: “I wanted a place where I felt like I could make an impact and UVA has a lot of opportunities for that. Plus, UVA seems like a great environment full of intelligent, hard-working people.”
So far, her position has Wilson helping out with several tasks such as “creating supporting documents, orientation for new hires, becoming a point person for people who have questions, and maintaining the calendar and FST inbox.” Though she says that her duties are “still in flux at the moment” and will likely “change as the project progresses.” Wilson doesn’t seem to mind this at all and says that she enjoys working in an environment that’s different every day.
When she’s not hard at work, Wilson enjoys healthy pursuits like running and cooking.

“I don’t consider myself a great cook, but I love to do it. I particularly love making dinner for family nights when we all eat together.” She also enjoys reading and spending time with her three children: Buddy, 18; Caroline, 16; and Byron, 13. “And our dog, Poppy, of course!”
The city of Charlottesville and its surrounding areas are also a source of entertainment for Wilson and her family. “I love to check out vineyards, local events, music, and restaurants,” she says.
We’re so glad to have Jamie on the FST team, and we’re excited for her future contributions.
