The Equity Action Team is excited to come together next week to discuss the most recent podcast episode of “This American life: Talking While Black”. In this episode, Emanuele Berry looks back on how the Summer of 2020 “racial reckoning” that garnered so much support and solidarity has transitioned to backlash and resistance in 2021.
Berry sums it up best, “The line of what's acceptable to say about race and racism in America, it moved. It's as though we were having one argument, and then the terms changed. And that shift has left many Black people exposed and vulnerable and living with those consequences.”
The podcast shows just two of the many stories of people trying to navigate this changing landscape and their responses to it. Please join us as we discuss this and the climate that we find ourselves in as a community.
