New Payroll Resources to Help You Understand Your W-2

New W-2 Resources on the Payroll Site!

As tax season gets underway, many employees may take a closer look at their W-2 forms and realize they have questions. To help make sense of it all, our Payroll team has created two new resources designed to walk you through what you’re seeing and why.

How Do I Read My W-2?
This guide offers a box-by-box walkthrough of the W-2 form itself. It explains what each section represents and where the information comes from, helping you understand how to read the form once you have it in hand.

Understanding Your W-2: A Tip Sheet
If you’ve ever wondered why the wage amounts on your W-2 don’t exactly match your final pay stub for the year, this resource is for you. This tip sheet explains how W-2 wages are calculated, including how pre-tax deductions and other factors can affect what appears on the form.

Together, these resources are meant to take some of the mystery out of W-2s and provide helpful context as you prepare your taxes. Both documents are now available on the Payroll page of our website, and we encourage you to take a look and/or share them with a colleague who might find them useful.
