AI in Action: Learning from Colleagues across UVA
When: Tuesday, October 20, 2026 | 10–11 a.m.
Where: Bavaro Hall, Holloway Hall, Room 116
Artificial intelligence is evolving quickly, and innovative work is happening across the University. Join UVA colleagues for a peer-to-peer learning session featuring real-world examples of how teams are using, exploring, and supporting AI in their work.
Hear from colleagues representing the McIntire School of Commerce, Student Affairs, Human Resources, and Information Technology Services as they share the opportunities they are seeing and the challenges they are navigating.
Come away with practical ideas, new connections, and insights that may spark possibilities for your own work.
Design for Change: An Introduction to Fogg Behavior Design
When: Tuesday, November 10, 2026 | 10:30–11:45 a.m.
Where: Newcomb Hall, South Meeting Room
Ever wonder why people don't always do the things we think they should do, even when the benefits seem clear? Students miss appointments, new tools go unused, and promising programs draw small crowds. Understanding what drives behavior can help us design more effective solutions.
This session introduces the Fogg Behavior Model (FBM), developed by Stanford behavior scientist BJ Fogg, Ph.D., and explores practical ways to apply behavior design in your work.
You'll hear how UVA faculty and staff have used these methods in student leadership development, communications, and a teacher training grant. Then, in small groups, you'll explore how to apply Fogg's methods to a work-related challenge through a guided activity.
Whether you're encountering behavior design for the first time or looking for new ways to encourage behavior change, this session offers practical models and methods you can put to use right away.
What One Past Participant Says
"Learning Behavior Design became a lens for me and my team to look at everything we do. It's easy to bring this new way of thinking into our work, and it helps us think more intentionally about how we create resources and supports that work well for the educators we serve."
