UVAFinance is pleased to announce Amanda Meares' recent promotion to Director of Organizational Initiatives within the Office of the Vice President for Finance.
Since joining the University in 2021 as a Budget Analyst, Meares has steadily grown her career in OVPF, from Senior Financial Analyst (in both the College of Arts & Sciences and Financial Reporting & Accounting) to Finance Manager, and now her new role. Throughout her time with UVA, she has demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to advancing the University's organizational priorities.
In her new position, Meares will serve as a key strategic leader within UVAFinance, using her leadership skills across financial management, project administration, HR coordination, and advancement practices. She will help identify and develop initiatives that strengthen finance operations and better support the University's missions, while fostering interdepartmental collaboration at UVA.
Meares' previous experience leading cross-functional projects and organizational improvements will be particularly relevant to her new role as she partners with finance leaders and colleagues across Grounds to advance strategic initiatives and create sustainable improvements.
