Ensuring Data Integrity |
This week, a new validation will go live in Workday Finance that checks for a mismatch between the company specified at the line level and the project worktags.
The purpose of this validation step is to ensure that if a project worktag is used, the company specified at the transaction line level matches the company specified on the project worktag. If there is a mismatch, you will receive an error message.
Upon receiving this error, you can review the company listed on the project worktag by using the related action to view project specifics. Updating the company on the transaction line to match the company on the project worktag will resolve the error.
This change helps ensure data integrity and will reduce errors in company mismatches. Please let us know via AskFinance@virginia.edu if you have questions or concerns.

Note: The FDM validator tool does not validate based on Company. It is possible to enter a company and project in the FDM validator that do not match and have it validated. You will still receive the error message if you use that same mismatched company/project worktag combination on a transaction.
