Meet UVA Finance's New Staff Senator, Rasha Ahmad

For Rasha Ahmad, serving on the UVA Staff Senate is an opportunity to give back to the University community in a meaningful way. As she prepares to complete her MBA this August, she was looking for new ways to become more involved beyond her day-to-day role. 

With a long-standing interest in volunteering and community engagement, including serving on an Albemarle County Public Schools committee during the school redistricting process, joining the Staff Senate felt like a natural next step.

Through her role in UVA Finance Business Services, Ahmad has developed an appreciation for the people who keep the University running and for the importance of ensuring staff voices are heard.

 During her term, she looks forward to connecting with colleagues across Grounds, learning from their experiences, and helping strengthen communication and collaboration across the University. She hopes to be a thoughtful advocate who listens, represents her colleagues, and contributes to a positive workplace for all staff.
